April club shipments

I thought I would post this again for the club members. With Easter being on the 1st this year, when I usually send out the club invoices, I will be sending them out on the 31st. I appreciate your quick payments so I can get your club items shipped out to you. I will be working Easter to pack all of these orders (it takes over 12 hours just to print shipping labels now)  because as I previously mentioned, I have company arriving on the 5th and staying through the 8th. I will not be shipping any items during that time. If I do not receive your payment by the 4th, then your order will go out on the 10th.
I hope to have everyone's payment by the 1st so I can mail your orders on the 2nd. Floss and Linen club shipments will now go out on the same day. Since some of you had floss and linen I didn't want to make you wait until the linen was being shipped on the 9th.

Then in March I will resume the invoices on the 1st and shipping all club orders on the 5th.

THANK YOU for your help in making this go smoothly during the Easter holiday. I appreciate your help. And I hope all of you have a very Happy Easter.

With Easter being on the 1st when I usually send out invoices, they will go out on the 31st of this month.

NOTE!!!! I am having a group of stitching friends come stay with me April 5th through the 8th and will not be doing business at that time.

April shipping for clubs:
Invoices will go out March 31st. This takes 12 hours now.
Easter is April 1st
April 2nd I will start printing shipping labels and packing. This is a two day process now with all the new club members.

*******I NEED ALL PAYMENTS TO BE IN BY APRIL 3RD

I will be mailing all floss and linen clubs on the 3rd. If payments are not received by the 3rd then you will have to wait until the 10th for me to mail your orders. PLEASE mark your calendars so you can receive your orders early.

THANK YOU in advance for your help. It has been a lot of work to arrange all of the invoicing, packing and shipping but we have a good system now and I will be able to mail all of the floss and linen clubs together each month at the same time.

Tomorrow, the 1st, is going to be very busy. Make sure you check back to see if you are a winner.

On the 1st of each month I draw a name for the Birthday Club and send a nice present. Make sure you have sent me your month and birthday and make sure you are a follower.

Each club will have a winner on the 1st of each month. They will receive the Special Limited Editions I card for this occasion. If you get 6 skeins a month you will win 6 skeins. If you get 12 skeins each month then you will win 12 skeins. One winner from each club, linen club included. Then I mark you off the list so others have a chance each month.

46ct Bergen Linen

I love linen...and I wish I had more time to stitch as I would love to stitch something on this new Bergen Linen. The feel of it is luxury....so very nice. I wish I could find it in other counts but my supplier only has 46ct. Excellent quality.

I wanted to show you a few of the samples I just dyed.

My camera never does justice for the linen....but you can see from left to right I did classic heritage sampler colors from light mottled cream to a parchment/yellowed color. I also do these shades on my other count linens by request and for the fabric club.
Then I did a slate (confederate) blue/grey for a customer. Slight mottling and it can be done darker.

The Bergen linen is white so these colors are different if you use a cream base linen. I don't have every count in white.

I thought you might like to see some photos as I have had several requests to show more linen. This linen is available for the club too.

I love to do patterns and this little sampler is one of my favorites. I designed it for a stitching retreat and gave one to each person who attended.

Raspberry Linen

A few gals on flosstube were kind enough to show some of my linen....and I have had lots of questions about colors. I dye limited editions but I also repeat a lot of those colors by request.

I have 16 and 18ct Aida.
Linen in 28, 32, 36 and 40ct.
I will be adding 46ct linen in a week and I will dye some as soon as it arrives and give you a preview.

I was also asked to show pictures of colors as I dye them....last week was Raspberry. Here are a couple photos:
A darker base will result in a deeper color or if I choose to leave the color in the dye longer.
I believe this photo is of the 36ct linen

The linen on the left is a bit darker because it was dyed on a cream linen.
I also dye linen with less mottling for a vintage sampler look. I do a mottled cream and parchment for my own samplers but dye lots of other colors for the club shipments.

Floss Club Invoices and payments

I send the floss and linen club invoices out on the 1st and they need to be paid by the 4th (unless you have special arrangements with me) as I mail the floss on the 5th and the linen/aida on the 9th.

It is VERY busy around here packing and printing labels for 200 packages and I really will appreciate all of the payments in on time. To track down a few slow pays takes a while, sending second money requests or emails and I truly don't have the time.

Postal Increases for club shipments

Postal increases will be added to all club invoices going out today.

Club invoices go out tomorrow

All of the invoices will go out tomorrow for all of the floss and linen/Aida clubs. Due to the increase in the number of new members it will be an all day process sending out your invoices. IF you have not received your invoice by early evening please send me an email.

There are always a couple Paypal requests that don't seem to go through the first time, even though it says it does on my end. Two went through twice last month because it said it did not go through and try again....and it got sent twice. Just let me know if this happens and I will cancel one.

IF you need to add anything to your order, please do it today and not tomorrow. You can imagine going through all those files and sending invoices for 8 hours is a lengthy process and it goes smoother if you add anything today. I thank you in advance!
Floss is then mailed by the 5th and if you have linen or Aida your order will be mailed by the 9th.

Thank you all who are in the clubs. It is a lot of work but a lot of fun creating all these new colors and fabrics for you. I truly love what I do.....I just wish there were more hours in the day!

Limited and Primitive Limited Editions

One of the most frequently asked questions I get is what is the difference between Limited Editions and the Primitive Limited Editions. I dye 24 new colors each month (and a couple extra colors), and I try to select the more muted colors for the Primitives. Some months the colors are darker and some have more pastels or spring colors. Winter months I usually do darker colors.
I thought you might like to see a sample picture. These are the colors for the two clubs for February. The top colors are the Limited Editions and the bottom are the Primitives.

I select 6 colors from each group (my choices only) for those of you who receive 6 skeins. If you receive the box of 12 you will get all of the colors shown in that group.

*****With so many people joining the clubs I may run out of some colors and I substitute similar colors for that month. All new colors dyed each month.

I think these colors are darker in the photo than they actually are.....at least by my monitor. I think they are a little lighter. But this will give you an idea of what the colors look like that I dyed.
Next month the Primitives will be lighter colors as we will soon be close to spring colors.

I thought I would give you a preview of the February Special Floss I dyed. 12 special colors......I draw a name from each floss club and send these special colors. Floss has been keeping me very busy as you can imagine. I did have time to re-do one of my older patterns Leave No Tender Word Unsaid. Charted with DMC to make it easy......16 count or 32 count linen like I used , the finished size is 7-1/2 x 10-1/2 and fits a standard 11x14 frame from Hobby Lobby for $10 on sale. I try to do all my charts so they will fit in stock frames to save you money. I have ordered the custom frames and even with a discount it gets pricey.

I always do samplers based on beautiful verses.

I need to find the time to frame this and get it hung in my office.  The picture does not do it justice....the fabric is a yellow cream and the lighting does not show it very well. I love the reds, greens, rose and cream I selected....my favorite colors of course! This chart is $11.99 and I include color block charts and symbols so you can use the chart type you prefer.

What are Special Limited Editions?

I have had a few people ask me what are the Special Limited Editions...and are they the same as the monthly Limited Editions? No, they are different. They are Special! LOL

I dye 12 colors each month for the Primitive (more muted) Limited Editions and 12 for the regular Limited Editions. Simply limited amounts of each color for the floss clubs and get them while you can.

I decided to do some Special Limited Editions this year. Each month, I will dye an additional 12 colors in very limited supply. Usually 10-20 boxes of 12 skeins. And I give an extra free skein with this collection.  

 I thought it would be nice to give these to my club members as I have a drawing on the 1st of each month (if you missed the recent post) and pick one name from each club to receive this special present from me. Because I appreciate all of you! Then I sell the remaining boxes on a first come, first serve basis. I do have a couple club members that have added these to their monthly subscription.
I occasionally will have some extra singles of a few of the colors. They sell out quickly so if you receive a color you really like please contact me right away to see if more is available.

So that should explain the Special Limited Editions for 2018.
I had dyed so many collections last year and I wanted to try something new for all of you. I think it adds to the fun of following my blog and being in the floss or linen/aida clubs. More drawings, more winners = more fun!

Spcial floss for January

I still have a few boxes of the special floss colors I dyed for January. The only difference will be that I am sold out of the free skein of purple at the bottom so you will get a free skein of beautiful variegated pinks.

Designing a new motto

Designing a new motto or a sampler is always fun. The perforated paper mottoes are a lot faster to design than a traditional sampler but they are fun to do. I had a customer who stitched one of my Christmas mottoes and he requested a Halloween motto custom designed. He wanted to take parts of two mottoes I had listed in the ebay store and combine parts of each to make a new motto. I have this request more than you can imagine.

He liked the wording from Happy Halloween:

He sent me a picture after he framed it and I love it! In fact....I will stitch this one on perforated paper to sell the kits in my store and I will chart this one when I have the time. Extra time around here was lost a long time ago.

Back to floss today. I am dyeing all the colors for the March clubs so I can get them sent out to be carded. It is hard to get ahead when I keep so busy and just when I think I am there.....something always comes up. Never fails. lol.    DMC was closed for inventory and the order I placed two weeks ago should be processed this coming week. At least that is what they told me. I hate delays but sometimes there just isn't anything you can do about it. But you can be sure I will place another order next week for the large cones to dye for another 3 months. 165,000 yards of floss to dye and card so you need to keep on this to get ahead. The only fun part is the dye process and creating new colors. THAT is fun.

Floss club invoices for January

I have had quite a few new members sign up for the floss clubs....a big thank you to all of you and welcome!!!

Since I had a lot more people this month requesting to join right now, I am quickly running out of the current month's floss.
Invoices need to be paid by the 4th as I mail floss on the 5th. If you did not pay your invoice you need to do it as soon as possible. I may not have enough floss to fill your orders and you will have to wait for floss in February.  I am sure you can all understand this and I appreciate your patience if you miss out on floss this month.
Send me an email if you have not paid and I will let you know what floss is remaining for January.

Thanks again to all the new club members. I think you will LOVE the floss for February......and I just dyed 12 special colors for the February club give-away. If you missed those details.....I dye a small amount of special colors for a drawing. I draw a name from each club, including linen/aida, and each club has a winner each month. If you receive 6 skeins with your club shipment (or1/8yd fabric), then you get 6 special skeins. If you receive 12 skeins in your club shipment (or 1/4 yd fabric), then you receive a box of 12 skeins. I also have a few boxes of these special colors to sell. I will show those colors on the 1st.

Club shipping dates changed

With so many people signing up for linen and aida, I find it necessary to change the club shipping dates.

Invoices will still go out on the 1st. Floss will be shipped by the 5th.
If you have linen, aida, or a combination of linen and floss, then your shipments will go out by the 9th. I am absolutely swamped...so I hope you understand.

Preview of floss club colors for February

I took a couple photos of some of the floss colors I will be using for the clubs in February. I had several request to show some colors. I have not decided which club will get which colors....these hanks of floss are going to  be carded by my 3 trusty elves.....who I could not possibly live without at this point in time. After I get them back I will decide which club will get them. Some of you get 6 skeins for your club and some get 12. If I have any extras I wait a while to list them in the ebay store. That way if you want more of a color email me right away so I can ship it to you. These are very limited editions.

It is hard to see in the photo but there are several shades in each color. At least two, some have three shades.

The January shipments had several variegated colors in them but those were very different. These are shades of the same color in most of these. I think the blue has some purple in it.......a little red in the orange....you get the idea. I still need to dye the 12 special colors for next month. SO much to do!

I want to thank all the new club members who joined in January. There were a bunch! LOL And it will keep me very busy in 2018 keeping up with all of these new colors.

I got two shipments of 16 count Aida and tomorrow they will deliver the 18 Count Aida. For those of you who have been asking, I will be dyeing quite a few colors for the club shipments. I try to do a similar colors for each count of linen and Aida for each month to keep it simple. But I will start showing other colors available in about a week. I need to dye the floss for March to get ahead and then can focus on showing fabrics for sale. I will also post a few listings in the ebay store but the prices will be a little higher with the ebay fees. Direct sales are always the best route.

January Club winners today!!!!

Since I first mentioned I would be giving away special floss each month in a give-away for club members I have been flooded with emails asking me to post pictures of the floss. So instead of making you wait, I will show you the floss.
As promised......I will draw a name from each club (floss and linen) on the 1st of each month. If you get 6 skeins or 1/8 yard of fabric, you will win 6 skeins. If you get 12 skeins or 1/4 yard of fabric, you will win a box of 12 skeins!

After you win I will mark your name as a winner on the list so each month after that the others will have a chance to win. I think this will be fun!
