Give-Away winner and announcements

Lots to talk about today. Give-aways, winners and other announcements.

You all know how much I love to share. I have give-aways all year long. HUGE give-aways with hundreds of dollars in merchandise and postage for gifts shipped world wide. Christmas in July.....the 12 Days of Christmas.....and a give-away almost every other month of the year.

And  I take your pre-orders and club subscriptions seriously. They are a lot of work. How much work? I put in 80+ hours a week. I think for being 65 with Lupus and 4 other diseases that is pretty good.

The Eliza Bell Cox SAL has been a huge success and new orders are coming in each day. BUT there are still 17 people who did not pay for their pre-orders (and you can still pay for them). I believe in tough love. I raised my kids that way.........and if you pre-order from me and don't pay for your order, I do have to say you can't order from me again. I simply had to make a list of people who cannot order from me. Plain and simple and I think that is only fair. I thought long and hard about this and will stand firm in my decision. If I dye your merchandise in good faith that you will pay for it, then you should honor your  part of the deal. Sounds reasonable to me.

The same goes for club subscriptions. When you sign up for a club I dye the floss for your order. Please pay your invoices when they are sent. Thank you.

Now for a winner today. Like I said.....I give away gifts all year long. The winner today gets to choose which flower collection they want: Antique Dried Flowers

Lambs Ear, Catnip, Heirloom Poppy, Faded Mums, Dried Hydrangea, Victorian Rose, Weigela Blossom, Verbascum Clementine, Yellow Rose, Coreopsis, Edwardian Fern and Dried Ferns. Perfect for an antique flower arrangement!
Wake Robin, Catesby's Trillium, Beardtongue, Downy Lobelia, Bluestar, Smooth Rockcress, Fern Frond, Gray's Lily, Flame Azalea, Indian Paintbrush, Columbine, and Southern Red Trillium.
Southern Appalachian Wildflowers.
And last of all is the Rocky Mountain Wildflower Collection.

The winner is Becky J. Congratulations! Please send me an email with your address and your selection. nbelgian@aol.com
I will have a new give=away next week after all of the club shipments are mailed.

Thank you and stay tuned for announcements for the clubs. Invoices will be going out on the 1st and 2nd. Then I start printing shipping labels and packing  on the 3rd and 4th and shipping on the 5th.

Thank you.
Nancy

  1. Congratulations to the winner of your latest giveaway!

Nancy, you are one of the most generous and giving people out here in the stitching world. I can't understand/fathom someone pre-ordering and not following through. I support your decision on the tough love.

  2. I'm so sorry you have people like that. So selfish and uncaring of them. Why bother to sign up if you are not going to do it. It's just plain mean. I think the list of no shoppers is a wonderful idea that will save the great effort you put into your business for those of us you love you to pieces and are in awe of all you accomplish and all that you share. Shame on them.

  3. Congratulations Becky J.
I agree Nancy. You work too hard and are so very generous. You should not have to deal with such selfishness. It really is too bad some have to be that way!

  7. Just put my check in the mail for June, Nancy! I did not know you struggle with Lupus. We have a family history of that autoimmune disease so I am well aware of how taxing it can be. I admire your work ethic!!

  10. UPDATE:::::

I tell you when my invoices will go out. I also tell you that the invoices HAVE gone out and for you to email me if you do not receive one. A few invoices always have trouble on Paypal each month.

Please Do not send me an email like the one I just got:

I never received an invoice and I do NOT feel I need to chase down a business for an invoice. Good day to you.

  11. I like it that you take a firm stance. I have seen other small business owners allow themselves to be run over by inconsiderate customers and it wears them out. Time for everyone to put on their big girl pants and do what you say you are going to do.

  12. Nancy... I am thankful for all the time and effort you put into the floss you send me each month. I agree that if you pre-order then you should honor that commitment. Sometimes tough love is the only way.

  13. Congratulations to Becky J. I can understand why you do what you must do. I've only had a problem once (an order from someone else). Usually I get an email notice an invoice was sent to me but that one and only time I didn't. I still don't know. That was something that had been on back order for several months-yours is easier because I know about the time to be looking for your email or to check Paypal. I've only received one month of your beautiful floss and I'm looking forward to the next. I'm using some of last months already and I'm very happy with them.

  14. I am so sorry people ordered thread and did not pay for it that is just not nice at all. I would block them from ordering too. I love your thread I am using it in several cross stitches and its just beautiful!

  15. Sounds fair to me. Pre-ordering is giving your word, and your word is your bond ... or it ought to be. Otherwise, pre-orders should include an invoice. Thanks for all you do. I don't know where you find 80 hours of energy for all you do each week!

  16. I agree with you completely - you should always stand by your commitments. I'd love to have a chance to win the Antique Dried Flowers.

  17. It is shocking that 17 people did this. They are really missing out on such beautiful fabric and threads. They are very inconsiderate after all your hard work.I dearly love mine and don't blame you for banning them. I hope to get more things here in the future too😊
