Tell me what colors you like in flower collections

I am always creating new flower collections. I think these are my favorites. Especially the soft, antique looking flowers. But I know a lot of you like the brighter colors too.

I have just placed another large order for 300 cones from DMC and the dye pot will be busy for weeks. So.......I would love to hear what your favorite colors are for flower collections.

I am thinking of doing a second set of the Rocky Mountain Wildflowers since there are so many beautiful flowers to choose from. I already have a Kansas Wildflowers. I may do another set of antique dried flowers since so many of you like the antique look which is perfect for primitive stitching. All of the above mentioned sets are still available.

Dyeing 24 new colors each month for the limited editions clubs keeps me pretty busy trying to be creative with new colors. So tell me what you would like to see in flower collections. Or any collection for that matter. I already have a Christmas and Patriotic Collection....Red and Cream, Grandmother's Favorite Quilts, Mother's Flower Garden, The Heirloom Collection, Hearthside Collection....all of these are in my Ebay store or direct from me.

I am putting together another garden collection when I dye the next round of colors. I will announce that next month. And all of my newer collections will have DMC conversions if I can match them to a stock color. Sometimes the new color is so different (I love that!) that I have a totally new color that just isn't close to any DMC color.

I think I will be dyeing larger amounts and double the number of boxed sets. I usually dye 100 sets and I will dye 200 boxes of some of these newer collections.

Wishing you all a very Happy Mother's Day

I want to wish all of you a very Happy Mother's Day. To celebrate our Mothers everywhere. Some are in heaven......we remember the loving time we had to share with them. Some are far away.....we miss them and wish we could be together. But we celebrate all they did for us and cherish them.

To one who bears the sweetest name,
And adds a luster to the same,
Long life to her, for there's no other,
Who takes the place of my dear Mother.

I hope you have a wonderful day. I will be taking the day off....yes....I finally get a day off and I will be spending it with my son and my grandsons that have been living with me the past 15 years. Raising a second family was just as wonderful as raising my first.
It is such a privilege being their Mother.

Extra singles from club sets and Limited Editions

Several of you in the floss clubs have asked me if extra singles are available if you decide you want more of a certain color....yes they are but a limited supply.

 I dye 12 colors for a club for the month, select 6 for the smaller set (which is no easy task trying to select 6 of 12 and I try to give a nice selection) and then I box the sets of 12. The club members get a special price with one free skein. I then list the extra boxed sets in my ebay store for my regular customers who just want an occasional set. And the extra singles? They are available direct from me for a few months and then I will list any singles left  in my store. So if you are wanting more of a color be sure to contact me as soon as possible while I still have singles.

I dyed all of the 24 colors of floss for next month's clubs this week. LOTS of floss came out of the dye pot this week. I did the 20 colors that the Guild cards for me for their fundraiser next month. I also dyed the rest of the Rocky Mountain Wildflowers......I love this set! It was hard to decide which wildflowers as there were so many. I may do a second set later on. These will be available in a couple weeks and I have started taking preorders.

And then there are the Antique Dried Flowers (available soon)....I love doing soft, antique colors for flowers. I dyed half of this set and I hope to get the rest dyed on Saturday. Of course all of these colors need to be named, matched to the closest DMC color, type set the cards, print the cards, cut the cards, drill the cards.....believe me, it is a lot of work. Then send the floss out to be carded. I only card a small amount of it now as it became overwhelming for these arthritic hands of mine. My three trusty elves do a wonderful job carding floss for me. Who knew there were floss elves??!! LOL

I will show these new sets as they become available. I may card 10 boxes of each before I send the rest out to be carded because I am already getting orders. Lots of new sets this summer so stay tuned.

Did you receive your floss club invoice today?

Since tomorrow is the 1st....and a Saturday.....I sent the floss club invoices out this morning. It takes more than 3 hours to send out all the invoices and by the time the payments start coming in on Saturday it would be too late to mail the shipments with the post office closing at noon. I thought by sending them out today I could mail most of them today and tomorrow if the payments are here. Some take a day or two to pay, which is fine, and then they will be mailed on Monday.

Floss Club questions? I have the answers for you

I get a LOT of questions about the 3 different floss clubs that I have. I hope these answers will help you.

A lot of you have asked if you can add to your order and the answer is yes. If you are in one floss club and you also want to try another club for one month (6 or 12 skeins) you can do that. I have to smile because I have a whole folder each month of "add ons" to orders.lol

You can add something from the ebay store, just let me know what you want me to include in your invoice. Boxed sets, sets or singles, no problem. I try to make it easier for you with one combined shipping total.

Need a gift sent to a friend's address? Yes I can do that for you. I send Birthday, special occasion and Christmas presents all the time and include a card for free. All I need is an address to calculate shipping for you. Last month I had one gal send club shipments to 3 of her friends so they could try my floss. Stitchers are the most generous people! I have met nice people all over the world through this business and that is the best part of it all.

April pre-paid shipments will go out early (shipping Monday) as I have them ready to ship for the April clubs. Regular invoices will go out on the last day of this month and the 1st.

Limited Editions are ready for April!

The Limited Editions and the Primitive Limited Editions are ready for April.....with the help of my 3 trusty elves. They helped me by carding the floss early so I can box the sets. I will be very busy the first week of April as I have stitching friends coming to stay with me. I will still send the invoices out on the 1st for all three clubs as usual. I thought you might like to take a peek at the new colors!

For me it is always a hard decision to pick 6 of the 12 colors for those of you who only get half the each set each month. I try to split the colors into two equal groups. Here they are for April shipments:

For those of you who get 6 skeins you get the 6 on the right. Others will get this full set.

If you belong to the Primitive Limited Editions Club, here are the April colors:

For those of you who get 6 skeins you get the 6 on the left. Others will get this full set. Once again, these colors are softer and more muted than they look on my monitor. You won't be disappointed I promise.

I hope you liked the preview. I know there are a few of you who like to see the colors before you select them. I do sell the extra boxed sets in my ebay store for $27.99 each. You don't get the club price of one free skein but you can pick up the sets you want or previous months if you missed any. I will list some of these new sets today.

Adding DMC conversions to all Limited Edition colors

Although it takes a lot more time to match colors......I am adding the DMC conversions to all of the Limited Edition colors  (starting next month) and the Primitive Limited Edition colors for the clubs. There will be times when a color is so variegated that I cannot match it....but for the most part, I will be able to give you the conversions. You can then cross reference to other companies using the DMC color.
I know this helps a lot of stitchers who need the conversion. I have always just selected colors I want for a design and don't go by names or numbers but I though this added work would pay off if it helps some of you. These will all be available from me direct, through the clubs and listed in my ebay store. I list the extra boxes of Limited and Primitive Limited Editions there. You don't get the club price with the free skein but for those of you who only want to buy some here and there, they are available.

I will start adding  these conversions to my new flowers sets too.
I added them to My Mother's Flower Garden I just recently finished and I am working on a set of Red Roses next week and I will add them there too. And I have a mountain of floss to dye this spring and lots of new sets will be coming soon. I love the flower sets.....I guess they are my favorite. It seems like you can use those colors in so many designs, especially samplers.

We are still adding machinery to the work shop. So many saws, routers, jigs, dovetail machines, planer, jointer, etc. We will start cutting and working with the first designs for the sewing boxes later this month. We are building a security wall in the building....you can never be too safe with your investment. After we get all these things done we will be back to making picture frames and the new sewing boxes. There is always so much to do around here!

Spring.......lots of flowers and flowering trees all over our yard.  We didn't have much winter......so disappointing. But I will let these beautiful spring flowers inspire me with their brilliant colors in my flower boxes.

These shades are lighter and prettier in person.....I think I need a different camera. You will love these spring colors.

These have the closest DMC conversion I could match on each label. Occasionally I can't match a DMC color, especially if there is lots of variegation and more than one color.
