Antique sewing machine pictures....you will love these

I first want to thank all of you for the birthday wishes and cards. I had a wonderful birthday.....it has been a great month. Did I get something special? Yes.............I did! I had to splurge on these antique gems. For those of you who have been to my home you are smiling....because everything in my house that can be antique.....is an antique. I am eccentric, believe me. And proud of it! lol

So I had been looking for this one particular Victorian sewing machine made in England. It is the Jones Hand Machine. You hand crank it! It runs so smoothly you would think it was new. And the gorgeous decals on it were what made me want this machine. It is cast iron and heavy but sits nicely on top of my antique (of course) desk.
Then I started thinking...there was an antique German childs sewing machine that I had seen.....hand crank of course! So.......I got that one too. It is just adorable. 7" tall and 8" wide and works like a gem.

Like I said...it has been a wonderful birthday month.

Now it's back to work. I have lace trims to pack. I will start showing them next week. I have been busy with ebay orders for hand carved frames. And I have decided to quit carving them. I was going to quit last year after carving over 500 frames with carved corner leaves and then I had so many requests for frames that I brought them back. Another 30 frames later I have decided that these arthritic hands have had enough. I will do occasional frames when I am not too busy with other projects. For me.

My son made the small hornbooks for me, the floss keepers. They have 4 holes on each side...are adorable in poplar and oak. They are 3x5 inches and I did them in a light stain so the etching would show. I did an etched design in the wood and stained them this morning. In a few days when the stain is dry I will post pictures. I have him doing some larger horn books for small needle work patterns to be mounted on. SO many projects going on around here!

And last of all, a friend asked me if I would consider selling the Ultimate floss collection in 3-4 parts. I guess that would make it easier to purchase instead of $338 all at once. So if you are interested in buying it part at a time instead of the whole set at once or buying singles, just email me and let me know.

Thanks for stopping by!

The Ultimate Floss Collection, 138 skeins, 2760 yards!

A friend has asked me to post pictures of the Ultimate Floss Collection I did earlier this year. I didn't list it on ebay because the fees are so high. I have 60 of the first singles listed there and I may list a few more. I have been selling it to friends as they request it and then one friend asked me to post pictures of it so here they are.
Too many for one photograph! I wanted to do close up pictures so you can see the colors.

The set consists of 138 of my 20 yard skeins. 2,760 yards of over dyed floss. Stitching heaven I was told. The skeins are $2.45 each. Lets do the math.
My skeins are 1/4 the price of other companies so I can sell wholesale to you. Saving you money is my main concern. This set would cost over $1300.00 from other companies. My price is $338. I consider that a substantial savings!
I may list a few more colors at a later date. I left out a few dark solids because you can get them from DMC. Black, dark brown, etc. I wanted a set of softer colors that lend themselves for samplers and the like. Great for any projects as they have the DMC conversion (the closest color I could match) on each card.
If you are interested email me. nbelgian@aol.com

I have been extremely busy...and slow this week with an eye problem. I see the eye surgeon in a week and I truly hope they can correct it.
I have some of the new lace unwound and ready to dye. I hope to get some new colors dyed and I will show them as they are finished. I will put together some nice assortments. I am so impressed with the quality of this lace and I can hardly wait to do a little finishing with some of it. I love to do finishing but it is difficult to find the time to do the little things with all I have to do. This summer has been crazy busy and I hope after October that I can take a little break or at least slow down after all this lace is packaged. I still have limited edition floss to dye this week...and do new boxed sets.....heaven help me.....where are the elves?? lol

I have my son working on a few new wood projects I hope to show you soon. I will post as they progress.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day. I hope there is a little stitching in it.
