2 Floss Club Winners today!

Be Ye Thankful give-away. Enter now!

It's almost that time of year here in the states......our traditional Thanksgiving on the 4th Thursday in November and I am having my usual Be Ye Thankful give-away to celebrate. Since the original day was a celebration of the harvest....I like to celebrate a harvest of friends! And I am very thankful for each and every one of you.

I usually have one winner drawn for this give-away but since I have so many new followers, I will draw TWO names! Two lucky winners to receive a gift.

I thought I would put together a nice selection of goodies to surprise the lucky winners. So you will have to wait and see what it is! These surprises usually have a value of $50 or more as I like to include a nice selection. You can suggest what you would like...floss, fabric (linen or aida), charts, etc.....BUT first you have to tell me what you are thankful for!
 
 I am always thankful for many things....my wonderful family that surrounds me.....the blessings I have received...and the friends and followers I have met and that is the best part of this business. I truly love Autumn with all the beautiful colors....the Sugar Maples are my favorite.....Burning Bush.........I added a variegated russet with 5 shades in it.....gold/oranges......Chestnuts is a warm russet brown....Autumn Bark is a very dark shaded brown...reminds me of the wet tree bark...Autumn Green is a green with brown....Autumn in Vermont is a glowing orange, etc.

All colors have at least two shades in them and I listed the closest DMC conversion if I could match them, the variegated Autumn Bounty has 5 shades with very light to dark.

Harvest Delivery SAL floss packet and info

The floss packets are ready to ship tomorrow for Harvest Delivery....a SAL hosted by Melissa Neeley....on FlossTube she is Neeleys Needle Nest.....she is starting the SAL on September 30th. The Harvest Delivery was a previous chart by Plum Street Samplers and still available.
The floss packet is 13 colors...5 yards each to match the Weeks called for colors....and one color has 10 yards. The floss packet is $12 plus postage....a great way to get a nice packet of floss too. New floss collections, colors, lots of news

Lots of new collections are in the works...being selected, dyed, sent to be carded....so much to do in August.

Before I start on the new collections I want to say that Paypal is sending out invoices today....I see a dozen have gone out....and I still don't know why they do that when they are scheduled for the 1st. Simply ignore them for a few days unless you want to pay early.

Collections...The new all blue and all green will be shown here in a few days. Now that my thumb is healing I can do a lot more.......it sure slowed me down with just one hand!

I will be doing another Autumn Colors collection with all new shades of beautiful reds, oranges, golds, greens, etc. Beautiful shades of Autumn. I am selecting those colors now.
All the new collections will have great variations in them with a couple extreme variegated.

I am selecting colors for a new Christmas Collection. I have done those in years past and they are popular. I would love your input.....I have done all reds, greens (medium to dark) and a couple golds....even a blue one year. What are your traditional Christmas favorites? The first two collections I dyed were the brighter reds and a cranberry red, and greens with variations in them. Holly, Ivy, evergreens.....
 The Victorian Christmas is always different....muted reds, cranberry, golds, and soft greens.

My question is: what colors do you like for a traditional Christmas collection.....AND do you want just a set of 6 available or the regular box of 12? One time I did two skeins of the same nicest red in the box of 12....I thought others might like that so they could have extra of that red. Not sure if I will do that or just one skein of each.

Then I will dye an all red collection....my favorite of course.

Next I think I will do an all browns from light to dark and lots of variegations.
Maybe a set of Primitive Tans with cream, ivory, etc.? Or maybe just Rustic Primitives? What do you like for Primitives?

I always appreciate it when you tell me what you are looking for in colors.

I currently have the purple set, pinks, the Halloween Return to Sleepy Hollow with lots of oranges and the Bewitching spells gray set......in the spring I will do yellows.

Would you like a job carding floss?

Would you like to card floss? You need to live in Illinois,  Missouri or Indiana.....close to me here in Illinois ( I am 20 minutes from Saint Louis)....then we can talk.

I need new helpers to card floss. I need responsible people who can commit to a time schedule and keep with it. I need someone who has no pets and is non-smoking. I need a reference from someone you have worked for if I don't already know you. Shall I go on?

You receive hanks of floss. You count twenty yards, pull the ends together and trim them 1/4". Fold in half and put that through the card and tie with string on the back with a square knot. That takes me about 45 seconds but I am very fast. I pay .20 per card. That would be $12 per hour if you can do one a minute. Not bad for sitting at home, no travel expenses or wear and tear on a vehicle. You receive a check monthly. You would need to work just a few hours a day to card the floss I need right now.

Are you interested? I need someone through December for now and maybe all of next year. After you do a sample bunch for me, and if all is done correctly, we can go from there. Send me an email if you are seriously interested. nbelgian@aol.com.

Severe storm and our power is out

Due to a severe storm today we are without power. Trees and power lines down all over our road. We were very lucky. Using our generators and I will have email access.

I packed over 200 orders and they went out today but there will be  a delay in the club shipments for the next few days,

Great news for club members with the DMC price hike

DMC is having a huge price increase for the wholesale cones only, coming soon. I always do my best to help all of my customers save money and I will keep the current pricing for the club members and still offer the free skein. Nothing will change there.
DMC also changed their minimum from $1,000 to $10,000 per order for best shipping prices. These increases are huge this year.

The collections will increase from the current price of $29.99 to $33. I am already increasing the Ebay set prices as I was going to do that any ways with their high fees. Buying direct is the best way to go right now as I will wait to increase the direct sale prices until next month.

I will also increase the individual skein price shortly....probably to $2.75 each in September. All individual skein orders placed before September 1st will be $2.45 prices. If you have been waiting to order...now is the time to do it.

More Treasures in the Attic Trunk collection

More Treasures in the Attic Trunk is my newest collection. Different colors than the first collection.

God Bless America new pattern and chart

My newest chart is one I adapted from my God Bless America pattern I did years ago for a perforated paper kit. My own copyright protected design.
This one is charted for cross stitch....cover shows pattern on linen with the stitching program. I will need to send mine out to a model stitcher as I am simply swamped this summer with dyeing floss.

The design is motto size on 14 or 28ct and will fit most antique frames...or the frame you select. 18.6" x 6.4".
16ct is 16.3" x 5.6"
18ct is 14.5" x 5.0
