Special Christmas in July Sale!
I had an email from a follower......she was a "little" irate with me......she missed the sale I had on the 1795 Sampler Floss Collection.....she missed it by one day......and she said she thought I should have had the sale posted for a longer period of time because a lot of people don't get to read all the blogs they follow on a regular basis....and you know I try to help all I can.....so here is my apology to anyone who missed the sale....by one day or not.....
So......if you want to purchase the 1795 Sampler Floss Collection, I will send ****DOUBLE**** free floss equal to your postage. So if you are in the states you would receive 6-7 free skeins (my choice) instead of 3-4. If you are International you would receive 16-18 skeins instead of 8-10. All depends on your postage. So how's that for an apology??
Lets run the sale for the rest of July. An early Christmas present to those of you who want to purchase the set. You must purchase direct and not through ebay to get this offer.
Original post:
Lets say you are in The Netherlands, UK or Germany....postage on first class is $16.74. You would receive 8 extra skeins of floss! 160 yards of stitching treasure.
Email me at nbelgian@aol.com if you are interested in this sale I have right now. I try to help all I can.
I don't like to have anyone mad at me! lol
Thanks for stopping by....have a great day!

Babs in Alabama entered Tami.
Kevin entered Debby L
and lets add one more. Marla''s crafts entered Connie.

I have been busy for the past few weeks counting and putting floss on 10,000 cards. 20 yards per card....200,000 yards of floss! The complete 1795 Sampler Floss Collection
I think I have completed the 1795 Sampler Floss Collection.....at least for now! I have 78 colors! I just added a few and I am giving two additional skeins free with this set. Free colors only available with this set.
I have had a couple requests from customers to purchase the whole collection....so I thought I would show you what it looks like when you look at all of it. Actually I sit in the middle of a mountain of floss after I dye this much......I could roll around in it! I just love looking at all the colors.
It is now in containers from floor to ceiling....but it would have been more fun to roll around in it! I have many floss-a-holic friends (you know who you are!) who can identify with this. Don't try to deny it....
So now I can FINALLY get back to patterns and such. I hope to have some great new things to show you over the next couple weeks so stay tuned.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
Nancy
P.S. I was just asked for a link for ordering this set. You can email me nbelgian@aol.com to buy direct or click on the photo at the right to go to my ebay store. The set is $156. 1600 yards and about 1/4 the price of some of the other floss companies if I may say so. Thanks for the inquiry.

New floss colors for the 1795 Collection
I have just wrapped up a very busy 2 months stitching mottoes and making hand carved frames for each. To say that it took up most of my time is an understatement. It takes 12 hours on average to stitch a motto and I was doing 3 a week and then the frames. It truly doesn't leave much time for other projects let alone stitching for me.
We have had a tremendous amount of rain like a lot of you here in the states. It was hard to get a sunny day to do photos but I managed to get some taken this morning before the clouds returned. I have dyed another 15 colors for the 1795 Collection. I did a lot of blue shades since I have had many requests for these. From Powder Blue to Aged Pewter to Blue Green which is one of my favorites. The Berry Wine, Peach/Pink, Faded Green Leaves and Aged Coral.
I have also been dyeing the linen for the faded roses kits I am working on....and dyed the floss, trims, floss rings, buttons, lace....
Then I bought lots of bells in assorted shapes and sizes.....and antiqued them for some Christmas kits I am working on....not too rusty as I don't like rusty items on my linen! We were always taught to take out a straight pin so it wouldn't rust on fabrics.....so I can't understand why anyone would put very rusty items on linen. That's just me....
I will have more photos soon...and a GREAT give-away.....so stay tuned!
Thanks for stopping by.

Flower Seeds 1899 wall pocket for spring
I have been busy once again. This design was easy....but dyeing the right floss in beautiful variegated shades took me a while....and the linen I will call Garden Sage (it is darker than this photo) as well as the matching ragged-edge ribbon bows and hanger. The backing fabric I over dyed a beautiful sage to match. This is a wall hanging, and it comes with the little antique reproduction seed packs that you see in the photo. The seed packets sit in a 1-1/2" pouch of the lining fabric. Six little packs that are about 2x3". No seeds in them, just display packets. They look a little more antique than the lighting in this photo shows....maybe I need a new camera. The Garden Sage linen....I have it lying on natural linen so you can get an idea of the color but it is darker than this photo.
The kit will include everything you need to complete this as shown. And although this is a little tricky to assemble (I am still working on some easy instructions for the kits), I sewed a strip of backing fabric on the bottom of the linen and I sewed the linen at the top to the folded back and the pouch on the front. So then I just had to sew side seams and turn it right side out. It didn't even wrinkle the linen like it usually does...and are you ready for this? No need to sew an opening closed! It has an envelope style on the back with a flap. I also used heavy weight interfacing to give this pouch lots of body. There is a loop by each bow to hang it on the wall.
I am pleased with these little seed packets too. I found just the right antique packets, reduced the size and printed lots of them. I antiqued the card stock, a few cuts, fold and glue and they were just perfect for this design.
You will receive the dyed 32ct Irish linen, sage backing fabric, interfacing, dyed ragged-edge ribbon bows, six seed packets, my hand dyed floss in 2 shades of green, variegated light rose, medium rose and sage and a needle. The finished size is 8 x 10 inches, a nice size wall hanging. I was looking at kits from other companies that are currently out there for $35-$45 and I priced this in the middle at $39.99 plus postage. Email nbelgian@aol.com to place orders. I will also list this in my ebay store in a week when the kits will be put together and ready to mail.
Thank you for stopping by to see my latest design.

New kits, new give-away and a fundraiser!
I have been extremely busy this past month. New designs, lots of fabrics and trims dyed, lots of patterns still in the works but that is nothing new around here!
For the new kits.....what I wanted to offer was a wide range of styles.....lots of trims, buttons, etc. Hand dyed fabrics and floss....and all in the kit so you don't have to hunt anything down. Easy to make kits too.
The fundraiser......I have been chatting with Gaynor (Stitcheranon) and she explained her bout with breast cancer last year. She has a personal web site for The Irish Cancer Society fundraiser....and in her words I will let her explain to you.
"The trek is organised by the Irish Cancer Society. It is a sponsored event and in order to take part we each need to raise 3200 euros. The Trek is quite heavy going, up a lot of mountains and it follows the famous Pilgramage walk, I will be walking the last 116 km to Santiago de Compestalla. This page has all the details. http://www.cancer.ie/get-involved/fundraise/challenge-yourself/trek/group.
I started walking under the advice of my oncologist: keeping active helps to reduce the side effects of chemotherapy. I was hoping to walk in ireland but the roads are very dangerous: too dangerous for a woman walking alone. I will be walking in a group for the trek which makes it much safer.
The money on the fundraising page ALL goes to the Irish Cancer Society. Any donations which come to me personally are again, ALL handed to the Irish Cancer Society: I obtain receipts which are given to the donors."
What I would like to do for Gaynor (I have already sent her lots of trims to finish the items she is selling to raise money)
is to donate to her for the next three months to help her on her trek. I will donate the profits (after material costs) on the best selling kit for each month. Of course I urge you to donate directly on her fundraiser page too. http://www.mycharity.ie/event/sponsorgaynor/
I have 4 new kits and I will be adding more each week. I have some nice red checked kitchen goodies that will be done soon (a whole basket of red goodies!)...as well as blue checks and stripes and black and tan. Lets start with the first one: Treasured Friend. I changed my pattern a little to fit this heart.
An adorable little heart stitched on 32ct cream belfast linen. Backing fabric is faded cream premium muslin. It is 4x4". The kit comes with the fabrics, overdyed red floss, red scalloped trim, cluny lace trim, and needle. All you need is the stuffing material of your choice. $12.95
I also want to add that these are easy finish kits. I used fabric glue to attach all the trims(why stitch and see puckers?) and I was thrilled with the results. It took 1 minute to attach the red trim with dots of glue and a few pins to hold it in place. Then a few more drops of glue on the cluny trim and in less than 5 minutes it was done. Glue was dry in an hour.
Next is "Time to spare said the hare". Finished size is 5x5-1/2". My hand dyed floss stitched on my own light carmel linen, 32ct. Hand dyed trims, tortoise and hare hand dyed wood buttons, cluny lace trim in caramel and a variegated golden caramel cluny lace for the bow with a carmel colored wood flower shaped button. $18
I had to add a patriotic/suffragette motto in here......Votes for Women! I love the old time banners from when women were fighting to get the vote. I sell quite a few of the perforated paper motto with this same title.
The kit comes with all the hand dyed wood buttons you see...the bow with 3 layers is already made and the button is attached! All you do is add a couple drops of fabric adhesive or a few stitches to the back to attach it. I said these were easy kits. Hand dyed trims, floss and antique ivory 28ct linen.
****I also added iron on interfacing. It really helps to firm up the linen fabric before you sew on buttons. Antiqued ivory premium muslin backing. Size is 4-1/2x5". $24
Last and most important is my Hope pillow/wall hanging.
I had a mini motto in reds and greens and I changed it to rose and pink and made a few adjustments. Light cream overdyed cluny trim for the bows and hanger. Narrow eyelet trim goes along the bottom. 5-1/2 x 8" plus the hanger. $24 and a real bargain. It was dark and raining when I snapped this picture so I will re-take it on a better day.
******I will also have this available as a chart only. $7.99.
These will all be available February 1st. You can email me nbelgian@aol.com to place orders. I do not have these listed on ebay to save the fees so I can help Gaynor. I take paypal and if you live in the states, you can send me a personal check. They will be listed later on ebay.
THE GIVE AWAY! You must be a follower and post a comment here.....I will pick five winners to receive the kit of their choice on Valentine's Day. My present to you.
**Post on your blog to help Gaynor and I will give you 10 more entries. Yes 10!
I will try to list more kits as they become available. Yes we will get to the primitive stuff soon......all in good time.
Thank you for reading/letting me explain all this to you. I urge you to follow your heart and donate to help Gaynor. After all.....you guys are the best!

A good start to a new year-
A few friends have asked me how the new kits are coming along....well.....as fast as I can with a couple delays I have had. I don't have any pictures yet but I will soon. I had a delay with merchandise that I ordered to dye....some is still on back order and they don't know when it will be in...gotta love that.....so then I was back to dyeing new wood buttons that I FINALLY got from China. I dyed some beautiful dark blue, pumpkin spice, gingerbread, red, black....and then I came to the olive green ( I HATE dyeing that color and I think it is the hardest to do) but I needed it for the little wood turtles for a new pattern. Then back to the dye pot for trims....and ribbon for the new kits because the bows will already be made for these kits.....and then I was thinking I started way too many designs at once. But I am guilty of doing that on a regular basis.
I am still waiting on the package of gold plated sewing needles from England for the kits.....I wish people would ship as quickly as I do.
Then the model stitching.....most of the time I just start stitching for a small pattern that I have in my head and then I make a chart for it after it is done. It just works out better that way for me. I would rather have a model stitcher helping me but unless I had the stitcher right next to me to make changes....it just wouldn't work. So these darn arthritic hands are slowly sewing a little design each evening and I hope to be done with at least one color for each of the kits soon. I want to do several for each color....the navy blue and cream/tan, the antique red and cream, and the black and tan. Can't forget the gingerbread....and the red brick for little houses....and the TURTLES! Those go with the hare.....
So I think I am off to a good start for this new year....and if the rain and dark clouds clear up soon I will be able to start taking a few pictures. I would love to show you this mountain of fabrics, trims, buttons and patterns.
I will also be having a fund raiser for a friend of mine who was diagnosed with breast cancer last year. Please stay tuned for that and as soon as I have the first kits available I will announce the details. I will also have a give-away for a few of the new kits. You knew I was going to do that, didn't you?!
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

Happy New Year!
It's the start of another new year....new projects, new patterns to design, new friends to meet. And I frequently find myself wishing for days long ago...when times were slower... and a safer place to be.....when children played simple outside games instead of being video addicts, and home was where Mom was and usually making something delicious instead of being a working Mom these days. It was a great generation to be part of....I struggle to remain the same and hold the same values. That can be tough in these times but I am optimistic; and I am blessed enough to feel that my wealth is in these wonderful memories that I hold dear.
So here's to a great New Year for all of us! I wish you all good health, happiness and finding treasures that you hold dear to your heart, what ever they may be.

A wonderful Christmas
I hope all of you had a nice Christmas. We certainly did here.....my grandsons were happy with their gifts...as they always are...they are such great guys. They grow up way too fast....I got them when they were 5 and 8 and it seems like it was so long ago.....they are now 16 and 19 and such nice young men. I have so many memories from when they were little and some of my favorite times were when they still believed in Santa.
I hope Santa was good to all of you. Santa Nancy is still very busy sending out the Ornament Collection charts to the last day winners. The emails have eased up a bit and I can keep up with them today. Thank goodness!!
I will take off running on the 1st as I have so many new projects planned for next year. Lots of mini kits that will have the chart, fabrics, floss, buttons or charms. Everything included to make an ornament, pillow, etc.(and of course we will give some away each month!). I had dyed lots of new floss colors just before Christmas and will continue for the next couple weeks. I am dyeing fabrics for the kits and am buying backing fabrics and over dyeing them. The dye pot will be very busy in the new year! After I finish this next round of dyed floss, I will have dyed 330,000 yards of floss in the past few weeks.....and if you don't think that is a lot...take the time to tie it on cards 20 yards at a time!
I hope we all get a little rest before we start into this quickly approaching new year.....
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

250+ winners today for the Christmas Ornament Collection chart!
Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas!!
I have revised this post about 6 times and have finally come to this conclusion. I wanted everyone to receive a nice gift this season from me. What I am doing today.... IF YOU POSTED ON THE ORIGINAL POST to enter the 25 days of Christmas give-away and IF YOU DIDN'T WIN ON ANY OTHER DAY in this drawing, I will send you my Christmas Ornament Collection in a pdf. I started listing names, got over 150...and then thought....you email me if you didn't win anything yet, nbelgian@aol.com, and I will check you off the list and email you the chart. This will take a couple days for over 250 winners....so please be patient. I hope I haven't duplicated any names (some people entered twice; please check the original post to see if you entered)...this has been a lot of work to keep all these give-aways straight.
I have tried very hard to give a lot of gifts to a lot of stitchers this holiday season and share my blessings with many of you.
Please email me and I will send a pdf to you. No sharing please, respect my copyright on my patterns. Thank you.
I have enjoyed giving to my friends each day of this glorious holiday season. I hope you have enjoyed it as much as I have!
To each and every one of my faithful followers, I wish you a very Merry Christmas!
