How quickly things can change.........

How quickly things can change...........busy one minute and in an instant an injury can change everything. I hurt my knee several weeks ago.....I mean I REALLY hurt my knee. I couldn't even bend my knee to get into the car to go to the emergency room. So.......I have done nothing else but take care of this knee. I have had injuries before and lots of physical therapy. I am working with it daily and can now bend it half way and I am pleased with the results. Yes I will still see a doctor as this knee has been giving me grief for a while. I guess I don't want to hear the words "knee replacement" just yet.

I have not done anything work related for weeks. But my son is working on new frames for my motto samplers.  We have been making frames for almost 10 years now and I wanted to add this one with fretwork along the sides.

I really like how they have turned out and I am sure he will do well with them.

Have I been up to anything else? No..........it's amazing that you can't think of much to do when you are in a lot of pain. And it makes you stop and think about what is really important to you in life. My family. Plain and simple. I plan on spending less time on work and a lot more time with my family when I am up and around again.

Thank you for checking in on me with the inactivity on the blog......the regulars knew there was something wrong but I promise to be up and around again real soon and have some new things to post. I dropped the new variegated floss and linen when I hurt my knee but I will get back to it soon.

I hope you are enjoying spring.....stitching projects.....and most of all, time with your families.

Thanks for stopping by.
Nancy

  13. Oh Nancy so very sorry that you have been in pain but glad you are headed in the right direction. I've been in some pain my self the last couple of months. First with an Achilles Tendon problem in my left heel and then as soon as I finished PT 2 weeks later a horrible gout flare in my right foot. I didn't even know I had gout! You are so right you can't think when you hurt. Stay on the road to recovery! Sending Hugs and Prayers -- Rose

stitching when providence has sent you a lot of sitting time?

  19. I'm sorry to hear about your knee. Keep up the good work trying to rehab it.

Pain not only hurts but it's stressful...no surprise that it's prevented you from your stitching and work.

I hope you continue to improve!

  36. Hello Nancy,

Am so sorry to read about your knee! I hope you have gone to see the doctor by now! Fingers crossed perhaps a steroid injection might do the trick. My mom injured her wrist and couldn't bend or move it at all and somehow one injection worked like a magical cure. Wish I was as lucky with my back. Apologies for not having responded to any further emails, I too have been out of rotation and laying in bed checking blogs feeling somewhat lonely without much of a stitchy bug. I love most of the threads - my favorites are the new variegated ones and a blue/brown that is simply define. I also adore the scrumptious one color variegations! There are about 10 skeins with some spotting, but all and all I am very happy and will absolutely come back for more thread and some of your designs.
Please get better soon - having chronic pain is absolutely awful. I will be praying and thinking of you hoping you'll recover soon!

  41. I am so sorry that you have been in so much pain! I have been on such a roller coaster ride with my husband's stuff last year, new stuff this year, and now my son... so that I have not had a whole lot of time to do much of anything except tend to them. But I totally agree, Family comes first! The rest.... it can wait! Speaking of rest... you keep doing that... and get to a doctor when you can! Big hugs!
