 I have been swamped once again with hand carved frame orders. In my spare time (laugh out loud as there IS NO such thing as spare time around here!) Spring Fling Stitching Give-away! Over 100 winners, enter now!

Everyone seems ready for spring. What better way to celebrate than giving away some stitching goodies! All of you know how I love to share. It's what we give away that we can take with us. Really!

I thought I would give away a Sping/Easter trims bag to one lucky winner.

Spring, Easter,Primitive hand dyed trim bag give-away, enter now!

I have been busy once again dyeing trims. Lots of spring colors for this trim bag and of course we need to give a couple away!
This a beautiful assortment of hand dyed trims, lace, ric rac and buttons. Spring colors assortment, great for Easter too.

Hand dyed purple wood button assortment. 8 buttons.
Hand dyed pastel violet plastic buttons. 10 buttons

I did a post yesterday morning and then got real busy. I didn't check the post as I never do. I thought it was odd that I didn't get any comments....and then I checked just now and the post didn't show. Gotta love blogger....

New Hand Carved frame for my sampler

I finally found the time to take some photos of the hand carved frame I did for my Youth's Flowery Season sampler. I copied the antique frame I have and I am pleased with the results. My son made the frame for me. I need a slightly larger than 16 x 20 frame. Carving took a week but was well worth it.

I am working on a different carving pattern for the next sampler  and finding all those hours to carve can be a challenge around here. Wish me luck! lol

New Halloween Trim Bag and a give-away! Enter now!

I am still swamped designing custom mottoes and stitching them for my regular customers. I have never worked so hard as I have this last month trying to keep up with these orders. Trying to fit 6 hours of stitching in each day has been the ultimate challenge. This last gal changed the Scotland the Brave pattern I designed for her....and then she wanted a tartan plaid border stitched around it! The price just doubled when she added that element. I am at the point where I am going to say no to the next custom order....and take a breather and get back to what needs to be done around here. I am carving another fancy frame and have designed another pattern for another frame. I need to get that done in the next couple weeks.

I am putting together my second Primitive trim bag and that will be available later today along with a give away.

My customers keep asking me for more Halloween trim bags. It seems like I just can't keep them in stock each year as they sell out so quickly. This year I added a few different things.....

Hand carved sampler frame

    It has been a very busy start for this new year. After Christmas  (I survived!) I got swamped with orders for stitched and framed motto samplers and I am almost done with those orders. In between all of those I have managed to start on a new sampler pattern and also a new hand carved frame. I have a beautiful antique frame that I used for my Welcome Spring sampler if you remember. Here is the picture again.

I have been carving the Adirondack frames for my motto samplers for 9 years and I wanted another large frame for my Youth's Flowery Season Sampler I did last year. My son made the frame for me. It is a little larger than a standard 16 x 20 frame (stitched it on 32ct and should have been 36 and it would have fit) so I got out the carving tools and I am half done with the frame. Here is a progress picture of the fancy top part

I hope to have it finished this weekend as I am anxious to see it stained. I am also doing drawings of the next frame I want to do with a slightly different design of my own. Will I sell these? Not sure yet. They take almost a week to carve so I don't know...they may be too expensive for most people. If I had just the frame to carve it wouldn't take so long but I have to keep stopping to do ebay orders and other things....and these arthritic hands can only do so much. I would love to do wood carving full time if I had the hands for it. I guess I should have started carving 40 years ago!
