I got my camera working again.....and snapped a few photos of the Sewing Necessaire I made using Windham Fabrics, The Williamsburg Sampler Collection....THE PATTERN IS PRINTED ON THE FABRIC, THIS IS NOT STITCHED, it is the alphabet sampler and I have always loved this fabric. The background was light cream so I over dyed it to look antique. To make these have great body I use fusible fleece to back the fabrics. I love that stuff! I used a Moda fabric for the inner lining and I also dyed the cotton twill for the ties in a nice shade antique shade to match. The backgrounbd is a little darker than what it looks like in this photo. It comes with a felted wool button and charm bag (with the adorable coilless safety pin closure) and wood buttons and charms shown. I love the stork scissors charms. Wool felt for pins along with the large antique flower pin, a skein of my Blue with tan floss, 2 yards of hand dyed ric rac and two yards of cluny trim. A little mother of pearl heart is the divider on one of the pockets that I sewed on. I will be listing these in my ebay store later this week. I just did this one yesterday so I will now make more. They are $24.99 complete as shown. You can order now, firstname.lastname@example.org. I am looking for a source for more of this fabric in other colors as it is an archived fabric. I have a couple yards that I over dyed and that will make quite a few of these. The first picture shows the before and after the dye pot. My other photos are a bit lighter than they look.
Lets give a couple away! If you like blue...or if you have a friend that you would like to gift this to....this one is for you. These make great gifts.
